எமர்ஜென்சி வார்டு நர்ஸ் அக்கா

 Happened a month ago. My mom was ill and hospitalized. We were waiting outside the emergency room by midnight around 1 am. After rejected by 3 hospitals, this was the 4th hospital which consented to treat my mother. Driving through the dark city night, hospital after hospital - that's a story for another day.

Coming back to the point - emergency rooms are unbounded by time I guess. Brimming with activities, nurses and attenders were fresh. I was totally numb - mentally too tired, banged by assortment of emotions.

Two young men rushed in. One guy's index finger had an injury. A towel was wrapped around the wound. He was totally in tears. Attender akka rushed to his help.

Akka I was working in an IT company as supervisor and now I have lost my job. My wife has gone to her hometown for her delivery. We are expecting our first child. Now I am working for corporation as a temporary worker. I got my hand stuck in the conveyor belt. Will I lose my finger akka? With that, he sobbed uncontrollably.

Akka was like, அழுவாத. மல போல வந்த கஷ்டம்லாம் பனி போல போயிரும். ஆண்டவன் இருக்கான். வெரல் ஒண்ணும் ஆவாது.

இங்க இதுக்கு ட்ரீட்மண்ட் பாக்க எவ்ளோக்கா ஆவும்?

எப்டியும் ஒரு லட்சம் ஆவும். க்ளீன் பண்ணி கட்டு மட்டும் போட்டு உடுறோம். ஏதாச்சு சின்ன ஆஸ்பத்திரியா ஒடனே பாத்துப் போயிரு - இது நர்ஸ்

சரிக்கா

கட்டுப் போட்டாயிற்று. கிளம்பிவிட்டார்கள் இருவரும். வாசல் தாண்டி விட்டார்கள் அல்மோஸ்ட். அட்டெண்டர் அக்கா பின்னாடியே ஓடினார்கள். ஏய், காசு வச்சுருக்கியா? எந்த ஆஸ்பத்திரிக்குப் போகப் போற? பையன் முழியிலேயே பதில் தெரிந்துவிட்டது. கூட வந்தவர் 20 ரூபா இருக்குக்கா எனகிறார். வீட்டுக்குப் போய்தான்க்கா பாக்கணும்.

அக்கா யோசிக்கவேயில்லை - தன் யூனிஃபார்ம் கோட் பாக்கெட்டில் கைவிட்டார் - இருப்பதை அப்படியே எடுத்துக் கொடுத்துவிட்டார். (எண்ணக்கூடவில்லை - நான் பார்த்தேன்). அந்த அக்காவைப் பொறுத்தவரை அவன் யாரோ ஒரு வழிப்போக்கன். ஒரு நிமிடம் பிரமித்துவிட்டேன்.

மனிதன் தான் தேவன். மனிதன் தான் கடவுள். பிற உயிரின் வேதனையைப் பகிர்ந்து கொள்ளவும், அதனையாற்ற தன்னாலியன்ற அனைத்தையும் செய்வதுதானே பிரார்த்தனை, கடவுள் - எல்லாம்.

Mark 12:41-44:

“Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents. Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, ‘Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.’

That akka gave everything she had at that moment. What may be her salary - probably RS.10000? - Still she gave everything.
